Ongoing body of work
Faux marble finishes, second-hand wooden furniture, hand-me-downs, ‘cultural objects’, novelty memorabilia. I have memories attached to some while others are yet strangely reminiscent. I think of household objects as negotiations between tradition and the ‘mistranslated’ and homogenised. Home is a liminal space.
I find both comfort and isolation in these spaces. I notice new, old, familiar, borrowed, imitated and out-of-place things.
